BlueAvocado designs and makes reusable shopping bags. To help them spread their gospel of reuse to a huge crowd, I helped design a grassroots effort that appeared at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Festival. We used Schlumpy, their plus-sized spokesball to help festival-goers visualize the average American's annual usage of plastic bags, and then asked them to pledge to reduce plastic bag use. Pledgers could then take a photo with Schlumpy while holding an anti-plastic message of their choice to share with friends. Every hour, we pulled a pledge card out of a hat and gave away a free BlueAvocado bag.
For this project, I directed the overall user experience, designed and managed the printing of the recycled plastic banners, and even worked at the festivals (that's me in the blue t-shirt).
